Toys On Wheels For Kids In Need | iinfo TZANEEN

The Tzaneen Road Hogs (Biker club) is having their annual Toy Run on Sunday, 26 November in Tzaneen. Clubs from neighbouring towns have been invited and are expected to join this worthy effort.

Last year 157 riders and about 280 others (in cars, being lifted on motorbikes etc) attended and the organizers are hoping to see more this year. Bikers will gather at Merensky High School at 9:00 to register. Entry fee for this exceptional morning run is a soft toy, non-perishable items or toiletries for children in need, in poverty or in hospital.

The mass group of bikes will leave Merensky at 10:00 and make their way on a route, pre-arranged with traffic authorities, to the Tzaneen show grounds. Here bikers will bring their special gifts and place them on a growing pile of soft toys.

These toys will be stored for the organizers to sort the number of toys equally among the clubs that were represented, for the leaders of those areas to distribute at children's homes, needy communities, orphanages, hospitals' children's wards and the like.

Biker clubs from Phalaborwa, Messina, Louis Trichardt and Hoedspruit (amongst others) are expected to participate. At the show grounds and after depositing their precious cargo, the bikers, their families and anyone from the community attending, will enjoy a day of visiting. There will be food stalls and stalls with biking accessories and other paraphernalia to browse through and purchase from.

For any further enquiries, people interested to attend or simply observe, can call either Jaco van Wyk (chairman of Tzaneen Road Hogs) at 082 459 1668 or Ryno Kunneke (vice-chairman) at 082 401 6013. This is a worthy effort to support. All hands, on board!
