Tzaneen Dam Nature Reserve | iinfo TZANEEN

Situated on the banks of the Tzaneen Dam previously known as Fanie Botha Dam located on the Letaba River, just outside the town of Tzaneen.  

The Tzaneen Dam is a beautiful dam stocked with Florida strain Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Carp and various indigenous fish. Hippos and the odd crocodile can also be seen, so be aware especially at night, and close the waters edge for these local inhabitants.  

The warm summers and mild winters in this area, make the Tzaneen Dam Nature Reserve the perfect destination for a quick getaway. Well suited for boating and water sports, this stunning piece of Limpopo will keep young and old entertained for hours.

Entry to the Reserve is via the R36 road, just past the entrance to High School Merensky. The Reserve is open from 06:00 to 18:00 daily. Visitors pay, R20.00 per car, R10.00 per adult and R5.00 for children and pensioners.  Ablution facilities, a camping site and picnic area is available. Launching of a boat can be done at a fee of R50.00 per boat. Camping sites with electricity are R80.00 per night per stand, sites without electricity cost R50.00 per stand per night.
