Find out at the Taste of Tzaneen Fest!
Those who missed the drama/comedy featuring well-known local stand-up comedian, Mari Weber and co on 11 October at Merensky High School, can dry their tears: it will be repeated, on popular demand, at the Taste of Tzaneen Fest which will be held from 3-5 November 2017 at Fairview Hotel. The performance fits the theme of the fest which is to proudly present the excellence in people and products Tzaneen and surrounds has to offer.
The cast consists of Mari Weber, Carel Mouton, Alida du Prees and Anriette van Rooyen. The show is made even more special as Weber tutored her three co-players. Mouton and Du Preez achieved their drama licentiate under her tutorship while Van Rooyen, after having learned all the tricks and secrets of the trade from Weber, went on to study drama at the University of Pretoria, where she graduated. She has been cast in several movies and also had a role in Binnelanders, a well-known Afrikaans TV-series.
For the gala performance at Merensky the main goal was to commemorate the historical and stately Steinway piano in the school hall. This old lady (with reference to the piano!) underwent restoration recently and has a new lease on life.
